Gaining Market Access

Electrical safety testing forms an integral part of the compliance process for Electrical and Electronic (E&E) products. Although referred to as electrical safety testing, some of the assessments go beyond electrical characteristics as the safety testing ensures that products do not present a danger or hazard during normal use or expected abuse.

Whilst harmonized international standards exist for electrical and electronic products, the certification process differs between countries and regions. Our global network of Eurofins Electrical and Electronic (E&E) laboratories offers accredited electrical safety testing and certifications for a wide range of products and global markets through single points of contact.
Our experts understand the regional variations in safety standards. Through appropriate gap analyses we can help you avoid duplicate testing so that your products can be placed on multiple markets in the most cost and time efficient manner.

CE Marking (Europe)

To place a CE Mark on electrical products to be legally sold on the European Market, a manufacturer has to be able to demonstrate compliance with the applicable EU regulations and directives including the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) 2014/35/EU. Our global network of Eurofins E&E laboratories offers electrical safety testing for all of these directives and their respective regulations to enable you to place your products on the European market.

Eurofins

NRTL Testing & Certification (US) Eurofins MET Mark

In the United States, OSHA accredits Nationally Recognized Test Laboratories (NRTLs) to perform safety testing and evaluation on products, and certify them as safe for the US market. To maintain the certification mark, manufacturers are also required to have regular factory inspections (audits).
Eurofins MET labs was the first NRTL and now offers NRTL MET Mark electrical product safety testing, certification, and factory inspection services through our global network of Eurofins E&E laboratories. For placing and maintaining products on the US market please contact your local E&E laboratory.

Eurofins

CB Scheme (accessing over 50 Countries)

The IECEE CB Scheme aims to enable manufactures to access a truly global market through one product safety testing and certification process. The CB scheme operates in over 50 countries including Europe, North and South America, Canada, Japan, China and many more. Using the CB Scheme has the significant advantage of eliminating the need for duplicate testing, saving you both time and money.
Eurofins network of E&E laboratories incorporates three National Certification Bodies (NCB’s) under the CB Scheme in Germany (Eurofins Product Testing), Switzerland (Eurofins Electrosuisse), and the United States (Eurofins MET labs). We also have many CB Scheme Certification Body Testing Laboratories (CBTLs) around the world. Testing your product under the CB Scheme at one of our Eurofins E&E CBTLs could therefore not be easier as it is all done through your local laboratory as a single point of contact.
